Dr. Magdalena Mancia

Dr. Magdalena Mancia is one of the founding members of Qualimed; a medical group that offers premier OBGYN practice and other related medical care. Dr. Mancia is very passionate about providing highest level of care to her patients and, through patient education, empowering women to take control of their health and wellbeing. She manages medical issues from adolescence through geriatrics.

She is an OBGYN physician surgeon with over ten years of experience. She earned her medical degree from the University of El Salvador. While completing her residency training in OBGYN; at the National Maternity Hospital “Hospital Dr. Raúl Argüello Escolán”, she was granted a fellowship at CHU Potiers, France where she obtained her Diploma in gynecological operative endoscopy. 

Dr. Mancia has a significant surgical experience. She was part of surgical staff and staff on duty at National Maternity Hospital “Hospital Dr. Raúl Argüello Escolán”, now called National Women's Hospital “Dra. María Isabel Rodriguez”, which is the main hospital of reference in El Salvador. In addition, she was teacher of physical diagnosis and collaborated as surgical evaluator for first year residents until 2016. 

Dr. Emma Gonzalez

A very enthusiastic person who transmits energy and positivity to each one of her patients with twenty-nine years’ experience. She earned her medical degree from the University of El Salvador and completed her residency training in OBGYN and Oncology at “Hospital Nacional De Maternidad Dr. Raul Argüello Escolan”. She achieved her foreign breast diploma in “Universidad La Salle Pachuca, México”. In addition to her extensive surgical practice, she has been Head of the Gynecological Service in “Hospital Nacional de la Mujer, Dra. Maria Isabel Rodriguez” and she is currently the Academic Coordinator of the Mastology Diploma at the same hospital in coordination with the National University of El Salvador.

Dr. Emma complies strictly to quality safety and infection control standards. She obtained a Diploma in Good Clinical Practices of the University of El Salvador early this year (2019).

She is an active member of Cancer Association of El Salvador, Association of Gynecology and Obstetrics of El Salvador and Medical College of El Salvador.

Dr. Josué Eli Mendéz

Dr. Mendez earned his medical degree from “Universidad Autonoma of Santa Ana” and completed OBGYN training at “Hospital Dr. Raul Argüello Escolan”. He had particular interest in breast training which he completed at “Hospital Maria Isabel Rodriguez”, the principal National Hospital of reference in El Salvador. He has experience in Oncoplastic surgical techniques for breast reconstructive surgery, achieved in Spain 2018. Since then he has been applying his knowledge with excellent results and documented procedures.

He is currently part of OBGYN surgeon physician staff including laparoscopic surgery, breast specialist of outpatient consultation, and in charge of breast intervention guided with ultrasound at “Hospital Maria Isabel Rodriguez”.

Dr. Mendez, a doctor with many ethical principles and values, has always been glad to share his knowledge and experience with others; therefore, he joined the University of El Salvador since 2014 as surgical tutor of first year residents to this date. 

Dr. Jorge Efraín Portillo

With more than 23 years’ experience, Dr. Portillo completed his medical school at University of El Salvador and residency in internal medicine and anesthesiology at “Hospital Nacional Rosales”, the most important National Hospital in El Salvador for these specialties. He completed his training with pediatric and obstetric anesthesia at “Hospital de Niños Benjamin Bloom” and “Hospital Dr. Raul Argüello Escolán” respectively, part of the national reference hospitals.

Dr. Portillo has been a mentor for medical residents for more than 10 years, collaborated as a researcher and educator. Therefore, he constantly participates in medical updates such as critical obstetrics care, pain management, palliative care in patients with cancer and critical ultrasound from head to toe in Mexico and England.

He has also been active in the laser surgery program of premature born with retinopathy and gastroschisis. 

Dra. Alejandra González

Dr. Alejandra earned her medical degree from the University of El Salvador. She holds training in OBGYN from National Women’s Hospital “Dra. María Isabel Rodriguez”. Following her residency she achieved a Master in Family Planning from the Women’s health Program of PASMO Health Professionals Alliance. 

In collaboration with others, she pursues her interests in the role of faculty development to enhance the quality of medical education and faculty wellness and mentorship, especially in family planning around National Hospitals and Health Units in El Salvador. She implements workshops for the insertion of intrauterine and intradermal devices with both postgraduate and undergraduate to benefit underserved populations.

Her clinical practice is focused on obstetrical care and gynecologic surgery of women in all ages.

Dr. Benjamin González

Is an established and highly skilled physician with over 36 years of experience in OBGYN. He is well regarded in the OBYN community being member of multiples recognized assurances.

Dr. Gonzalez passion is driven by the bonds he builds with his patients over the course of their lives as well as from one generation to another of the same family group. The enjoyment he holds in keeping them healthy is outstanding.

Dra. Diana Flores Urrutia

Dr. Flores obtained her medical degree from University of El Salvador and OBGYN training in “Hospital San Juan de Dios de Santa Ana”. In addition, she has a Master in Family Health from “Universidad Evangélica de El Salvador”. 

Dr. Flores enjoys practicing the full spectrum of obstetrical and gynecological care. She is passionate in providing care for women throughout their lifespan. Her charisma and kindness have allowed her to participate in television programs to provide gynecological and obstetrical education as part of her special interests of empowering women to make their best treatment decisions.
